PORTLAND, OREGON (June 15, 2005) - Azumano Travel, an American Express Travel Services Representative, has ranked #11 in the 2005 Annual Business Travel Survey published by Business Travel News. The Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) provided the air ticket transactions and sales data of 34 sizable corporate travel firms for the survey. Azumano was the only Pacific Northwest agency to appear in the ranking and was among those agencies posting the largest gains, with transactions rising 24 percent in 2004 and sales following closely with a 22 percent jump. The company's growth last year is attributed to several factors, including its purchase in the fall of 2003 of four wholly owned American Express offices in the Puget Sound area and the expansion of its current customer base in Oregon and Southwest Washington. The agency is poised for additional growth with the acquisition earlier this year of the American Express One office in Anchorage, Alaska. Azumano Travel was founded in 1949 in Portland, Oregon. |
