Azumano Travel Organizes 9-11 Memorial Trip to New York City

PORTLAND, OREGON (June 28, 2002) - Azumano Travel has organized a Memorial Trip for some 300 Oregonians and Southwest Washingtonians who want to visit New York and be there to commemorate the one-year anniversary of September 11. Participants include members of last year's Flight For Freedom, as well as a number of people who missed out on the trip that garnered so much publicity and was a life-changing experience for so many.

Participants will have the choice of departing from Portland on either September 7 or 8 with a return on September 12. At this time, no hosted or organized activities are being planned, however, Azumano will be providing participants with details on various public events and ceremonies that are in the works as soon as they become available. The agency is also providing the services of an onsite Azumano representative.

Four- and five-night packages are available that include airfare and hotel. Also offered are four- and five-night hotel-only packages. Pricing and package details for the 9-11 Memorial Trip have been posted on Azumano's web site at www.azumanotravel.com. Space will be limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

"As the one-year anniversary of September 11 approaches, we are pleased to be able to facilitate a visit to New York for all the citizens who have expressed interest in connecting and, in many cases reconnecting, with New Yorkers at this critical time," said Azumano president and CEO Sho Dozono, who was co-organizer of the original expedition. "Of course, we can't replicate the original Flight For Freedom experience. This group will no doubt take on a character of its own, but I am certain that participants will experience an equally warm welcome from New Yorkers and return home with the same sense of pride and accomplishment. And just as with the first group, I'm sure it will be a powerful and moving experience for many of them."
