Celebrity Cruises rolls out unlimited beer and liquor packages

Starting this month, Celebrity Cruises passengers can buy unlimited beer and liquor packages, a departure from the typical cruise line a la carte bar policies. Most major cruise lines offer some unlimited soda options, as well as wine packages.
According to information posted on the line’s website, Celebrity Millennium passengers were the first to be able to use the packages, starting today. They will be available on the balance of the fleet between now and Dec. 6.
The unlimited Beer Package starts at $34.50 per night, and gives passengers unlimited consumption of domestic and imported beers. The Classic Liquor Package, at $51.50 per night, includes middle-shelf liquors such as Johnnie Walker Red and Absolut Vodka, while a Premium Liquor Package, at $76 per night, includes top-shelf spirits like Johnnie Walker Black Label and Grey Goose vodka. A frozen drink package, including piña coladas, daiquiris, and margaritas, starts from $22.00 per night.
I wonder if passengers who purchase these packages shouldn't be required to where some kind of GPS/homing device in case they wonder over board or get lost finding their cabin. Hopefully everyone will drink responsibly.

| This is a great idea and a long coming. I am sure many passengers will want to take advantage for this. At least we will all be safe as we know they won't be trying to "drive" back to their cabins. |
